Alosa just felt a lot truer and more human, not some invincible pirate, but one with flaws and worries. Why is this important you may ask? Well in most books you always get to see the fear and confidence every main character experiences, but we never get to see their realization or the sideĮffects of being in charge of everyone, having your life at risk and possibly saving the entire world. In this one she was still all these things, but you could see her doubting herself from time to time, she even seemed scared at some parts, defeated, sad. In the first book she always seemed stubborn, fierce and ahead of anyone. Alosaįelt a lot more different too and I was surprised to see another side of her. This book felt totally different from the first one, I don’t know if it was the setting or the sudden change of cast, but I really liked it.
